"AN ECA COMMITTEE THAT MONITORS SAFETY REGULATIONS AND INFORMS MEMBERSHIP OF REGULATION CHANGES, OFFERS INDUSTRY SPECIFIC CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS FOR REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND GUIDES MEMBERS AS TO COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS"

The Safety Committee regularly meets and discusses current regulatory needs for our industry.  Chairman Harry Mills and his committee reviews OSHA and other agencies for safety related issues affecting the Engineering Construction Industry and determines what classes and workshops would be most beneficial to our membership. This committee meets the first Tuesday of every month at 1000 Apollo Way in the small conference room from 11:30am to 1:00pm. During 2011 the Safety Committee will be:

• Monitoring & evaluating the DOT Program which is a requirement for all Class 1 drivers in our industry
• Reviewing the Click Safety Program and Offering the program at great savings to our members
• Offering IIPP "mentoring" for the small contractor and affiliate for legal compliance support
• Hiring qualified instructors and scheduling industry specific safety training to ECA members
• Monitoring the construction environment for important safety changes that are upcoming or new 
• Reviewing Qualified Nominations for the prestigious Annual Trendsetter Award  for our membership
