About Us

The Northern California Engineering Contractors Association is a non-profit organization committed to furthering the interests of the engineering construction industry by providing a platform for political and social advocacy as well as training and education for its member companies.
The Northern California Engineering Contractors Association, normally called the Engineering Contractors Association, or ECA, was formed because of the need for a unified voice representing the local construction industry.
The ECA, and its Board of Directors, has been the voice of the engineering construction industry for the past thirty years. Looking back, it does not seem that long, but looking ahead it is easy to see that there will be many more challenges facing contractors, generating even more of a need for a strong voice in the industry.
The foundation of the ECA has been to address local needs and issues. It is different from most construction organizations in that it does not deal with union labor issues but welcomes both union and non-union contractors as members.
The purpose and goal of ECA and its staff is to provide services to the members that help them run their business safely, efficiently, and in compliance with the many rules and regulations and mandates of government.
The working committees of the association are the heart and soul of the ECA. Representing the many forms of its services are ECA members who volunteer to serve on the committees. These volunteers make the association work for all the members, and keep the ECA current with the needs of the members and the industry.
ECA also produces multiple fundraising events that both enable the association to sustain itself and allow for the ECA to "give back" through community projects and donations. These events are annual and consist of the Board of Directors Installation Dinner and Awards Banquet, Public Officials Night, Bowling Tournament, "Show & Shine" Car Show, Golf Tournament, and, the largest event, the "Days of Wine & Dozers" Auction.
